Flexibility training is also known as stretching. There are three approaches to stretching: dynamic stretching, static stretching, and ballistic stretching. If you have not developed a stretching routine to complete before and after you exercise, you are putting your muscles at risk for injury. Warming your muscles and stretching properly are important parts of any exercise routine. If you are not an active person, flexibility will decrease the older you get, so now is a great time to develop the healthy habit of stretching every day.
