Now that you have learned about the important facts about seamounts and guyots, create an acrostic poem to demonstrate your knowledge of these oceanic features. An acrostic poem uses the first letter of each line to spell out a word or a message pertaining to a theme.

Here is an example of an acrostic poem using the word SEA:

Salinated water
Ecosystems are everywhere
Arctic and Antarctic seas freeze in winter

Using the Seamounts and Guyots Acrostic Poem Template with the words SEAMOUNT and GUYOT, write two short acrostic poems that describe the concepts that you learned in this topic. Use your creativity and make sure that your poem makes sense and is descriptive.

When creating your poem, please use the following guidelines:

  • Your poem must include facts about seamounts and guyots.
  • Each line must have a word, a phrase, or a sentence associated with it, so any “leftover” letters are for personal reflections.
  • Your poem does not need to rhyme.
