Freefall
In the first part of the lesson, you will study the example of a gymnast jumping on a trampoline to learn about falling objects. You will apply the four kinematics equations from the previous topic to the situation of freefall. In the second part of this lesson, you will be introduced to solving freefall problems using equations you have already developed. At the end of the lesson you will work through Galileo's experiment and then work through the practice problems. Click the player to begin.

Galileo is considered the father of modern science, largely due to his application of mathematics to the study of motion. One of Galileo’s famous discoveries was how the motion of objects with different masses compare in freefall.
