Sound

observation iconAs an introduction to sound, you will make your own musical instrument with materials found around the house. You could use rubber bands stretched across food containers or a set of glasses filled with different amounts of water.  Create something on which you can play a simple tune. Record your observations to include on the discussion board. Think about the following questions:

    • What properties did you have to change in order to make the different notes?
    •  How did each change affect the note that you heard?

Discussion IconGo to the discussion board and describe your invention. Include a discussion of how you made the different notes. Comment on a classmate’s posting with a similar instrument, and compare your results. Find a classmate with a different invention, and comment on the similarities and differences between your inventions.
