Principles of Sensation
Now that you have learned about some of the essential concepts of sensation in psychology, take a moment to think about how these principles appear in, and connect to, daily life. To do so, create a brief story that demonstrates at least five of the following concepts:
- Sensation
- Perception
- Transduction
- Absolute threshold
- Difference threshold
- Sensory adaptation
- Selective attention
- Signal detection theory
Your story can be about yourself, or about a character of your own creation. Either way, it should take place over the course of a day, and include clear examples of five concepts of your choosing. Explain how your story illustrates the concept, and underline the concept to help make each of your connections more clear.
Before you begin, access the Principles of Sensation Checklist to make sure you include all of the items required for full credit. You may need to use resources outside of this course to complete this assignment. If so, please submit a Works Cited document. If you need assistance, visit the Developmental Module for information on citing resources.
Once you have completed your story, please submit your work to the dropbox.
