The 2000s

The early 2000s found Terrance and Martina witnessing one of the most catastrophic and life-changing events in American history. The attacks by Al Qaeda on September 11, 2001 changed the United States.
In response, President George W. Bush launched the War on Terror, passed new protective measures like the Patriot Act and the Transportation Security Administration, and led the country into two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. At home the President worked to cut taxes, improve education through the No Child Left Behind Act, and worked to preserve the American financial system.
President Barack Obama continued the fight against terrorism and Al Qaeda. He successfully ordered the killing of Osama Bin Laden and the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq. The fight against terrorism remains a high priority of President Donald J. Trump's foreign policy. At home, President Obama signed two pieces of legislation into legislation to help stimulate the economy during recession: the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010. He also signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act into law in an effort to improve American’s access to healthcare, which President Trump has promised to repeal and replace.
