9/11 Memorial

Often, when tragic or heroic events occur, memorials are created to commemorate people who are affected. For example, the memorial shown above is located in New York City, at the former site of the Twin Towers. It has two large reflection pools and waterfalls, and commemorates the September 11 attacks on the United States. For this application, you will create an original memorial commemorating this historic event. Your memorial should be dedicated to victims of the attacks and/or rescue workers.
Create your memorial out of clay. Your sculpture should also include a written panel that describes what occurred on 9/11, how the United States responded domestically and internationally, and the role the nation currently plays in combating international terrorism.
Once you have completed your memorial, take a picture of it and submit it to the dropbox. Type your panel as a document, and submit it to the dropbox as well.
Before you begin, access the 9/11 Memorial Checklist to make sure you include all of the items required for full credit. You may need to use resources outside of this course to complete the assignment. If so, please submit a Works Cited document. If you need assistance, visit the Development Module for information on citing resources that you used.

Once you have completed your memorial, please submit your work to the dropbox.
