Marshall's Impact on the Supreme CourtThe Federalist Party had a lot of influence on the judicial branch. In 1801, Virginian John Marshall became the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Marshall was viewed as one of the leaders of the Federalist Party at the time of his appointment to the Supreme Court. He would serve on the Supreme Court for more than thirty years.
