Travel during the first half of the 1800s was a complex undertaking. The Manifest Destiny Tour Company has asked you to prepare a creative travel brochure for its company. Currently, the company provides two different tours. The first is the Lewis and Clark Expedition Tour; the second is the Texas Land to Grow Cotton Tour. You will need to create a visually appealing brochure, with graphics, that helps explain one of the two tours.

Your brochure can start with a mission statement for the Manifest Destiny Tour Company, which explains the concept of Manifest Destiny, or your brochure can start with a motivation statement that the company uses to attract people wanting to take the tour. Your travel brochure should include the following information for each tour:

• The purpose or reason why the tour is operating;
• Statements motivating someone to take the tour;
• What kind of people might be going on the tour;
• Description of the tour guide(s);
• Information on the length of the tour;
• All possible risks the tour might encounter;
• The method by which the tour would travel; and
• At least one image that portrays what a tour participant can expect to see.

Remember, your job depends on your ability to attract people to the tours, so be creative! Your brochure should be attractive and well-organized. Before you begin, access the Manifest Destiny Travel Brochure Checklist to make sure that you include all of the items required for full credit.
