Take a moment to examine the map above. What do you think the lit areas indicate? This map is actually a map of the world showing concentrations of social media use. Notice how bright North America, Europe, and Japan appear on the map. What other areas seem bright?

In the areas of high concentration indicated on the map, computer technology has a large effect on the average person's daily life. As seen here, the United States is one area where the availability of computer technology is more prevalent. With that in mind, consider the following:

Do you think that computer technology has a positive or negative effect on your daily life? Why or why not? Post your response in the course discussions area.
