Pretend that the year is 1917, and that you are Vladimir Lenin on the eve of the February Revolution. You have some loyal Bolshevik followers, but you need to expand your numbers if you are going to have any hope of overthrowing the government. In order to spread your message and win converts to your cause, you have decided to create an advertisement and have it printed in the major Moscow newspapers.
Start with a catchy slogan, since your advertisement will be distributed widely in the hope that it will sway public opinion or win converts to the author's ideas. In your advertisement, identify what problems you have with Nicholas II, and your recommendations for change. You can include topics like leadership styles, World War I and the military, the economy, or how to handle the peasants and workers, etc. Make sure to include at least three problems that you have with Nicholas II and three of your solutions to these problems.
Be creative, but be historically accurate. Since this is going to be published in a newspaper, you should use graphics or other design techniques (color, bolding, larger font, etc.) to enhance your message. Before you begin, access the Lenin Advertisement Checklist to make sure that you include all of the items required for full credit.
