Graphing and Data Analysis

Graph iconNow that you have learned about the important parts of graphs, it is your turn to create your own. The set of data in the chart below was taken in a scientific investigation in which a  student measured the solubility of potassium nitrate at the temperatures listed. For this assignment, you will use this student's data to create a graph. Make sure that you graph is well-organized, labeled correctly, and includes all of the data provided below. In addition to creating your graph, you should also provide one to two sentences citing any trends or relationships you think the graph depicts.

Solubility of KNO3
(g/100 g water)
Temperature (°C)
13 0
21 10
32 20
46 30
64 40
86 50
110 60
138 70
170 80
208 90
248 100

Options to create your graph include the following:

  1. Hand-draw the graph and then take a picture of it for submission to the assignment’s dropbox.
  2. Hand-draw the graph and then scan it for submission to the assignment’s dropbox.
  3. Create a new file in a word processing or spreadsheet program and utilize the software to create the graph. You can then submit your work to the assignment’s dropbox.
  4. Use a mobile or computer-based application to create a graph or image. Then, email or export the final product for submission to the assignment’s dropbox.
