Graphing and Data Analysis

part of a line graphA graph can be an effective, efficient means for communicating the nature of a relationship between properties. The shape and direction  of the line or curve indicates the type of relationship. Points that are scattered may give information about the precision of the experiment. Important parts of a graph include a title, properly labeled x- and y-axes, data points with a line of regression, and an appropriate scale. Several different types of graphs are used to convey experimental information in chemistry. Those graph types include line graphs, bar graphs, and pie graphs.
