You may have heard the popular idiom "seeing is believing." If 20th century scientists had applied this saying to their work, then they never would have made such huge advancements in discovering the location of electrons and the quantum mechanical model. If a scientist is unable to see something how can they know it is there? How can they make others believe their findings when they cannot show them? Also, are there areas in your life in which this idiom does not hold true?
