One of the largest pieces of evidence supporting the theory of plate tectonics is the puzzle-like fit to the shape of today's continents. Many scientists believe that the continents were once part of a supercontinent known as Pangaea that formed around 300 million years ago and then began to drift apart around 100 million years ago. Take a few moments to look at the world map shown to the right. Do you have what it takes to put Pangaea together? Access Cornell University's Discover Our Earth web application to see you if you can arrange the continents the way that they were hundreds of millions of years ago.
