The Epic of Gilgamesh

During his journey, Gilgamesh searches for the secret to eternal life, while subconsciously discovering a lot about himself.  At the end of his journey, he travels home with a fresh perspective.  As a result of his journey, he is able to see himself and his purpose through a different lens.  Reflect on Gilgamesh’s self-discovery. Read the following quote and respond to the questions that follow.

The famous writer, T.S. Eliot, stated:

“We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.”
