Things Fall Apart, Chapters Twenty-Three, Twenty-Four, and Twenty-Five

BurialIn the end, Okonkwo’s worst fears come true; it is a self-fulfilling prophecy. He spends his life striving to be everything his father was not, but his tragic flaw causes him to make decisions and form judgments about the world around him that lead to his ultimate fate: becoming an abomination who cannot be touched or approached by the people of his village. In the end, he is buried by the very men that he abhorred: the white man and the Kotmas.
