The revising and editing process gives you the opportunity to rethink your writing before submitting it to your instructor or for publication. The writing process is not a lock-step process. You may draft, revise, and edit as many times as you need in order to make your paper as clear to your reader as it can be. Allowing someone else to review your paper allows you to receive real comments and suggestions to help you improve your paper. Reading your paper aloud and to someone else will help you better identify mistakes that need editing. The goal of revising and editing is to make sure that your paper is well organized with a logical flow from paragraph to paragraph, that your ideas are clearly articulated, and that your reader can truly understand your message.
