Rhythm and Rhyme

A poem's meter is what gives poetry a song-like quality. In this topic, you learned how to scan poems to establish their meter, as well as experienced what it is like to perform a poem. You also learned how poets use different rhyming techniques through sound repetition in two or more words. While poets use different rhythm and rhyme varieties, some poets choose to not use any at all.
