Food is your body's fuel, and without premium fuel, you might find yourself sputtering or broken down. Have no worries, because you have studied how to properly and healthily nourish your hard-working machine. Using your knowledge of the food groups and serving sizes, create a sample menu for one day. Using the Menu for a Day Template, provide information about full meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and two snacks. Be sure to incorporate food from all of the main food groups and list the foods and serving sizes on your menu. After filling out your menu, check to be sure that your selections follow the nutritional guidelines set forth in MyPlate for someone of your age and gender.
If you can visit the grocery store or have samples of foods in your house, read labels. Otherwise, you should visit a brand's website to obtain nutrition information about items on your menu. You should be specific about the items that you include. For example, for breakfast, you would include the brand of cereal you used, its serving and food group information, and why you have chosen it.
