Harmful Substances Acrostic Poem

Now that you have learned about the harmful substances that can damage your health and wellness, create an acrostic poem to warn others about their negative consequences. An acrostic poem uses the first letter of each line to spell out a word or a message pertaining to a theme.

Here is an example of an acrostic poem using the word DRUG:

Disruptive to your health
Risk of heart problems like a stroke or heart attack
Using drugs is dangerous
Get involved in other activities to avoid using drugs

Using the word template shown below with the words HARMFUL SUBSTANCES, write an acrostic poem that describes some of the concepts you learned in this topic. Use creativity and make sure your poem makes sense and uses description. When creating your poem, use the following guidelines.

  • Your poem must include facts about the harmful substances that you studied in this topic.
  • Each line must have a word, phrase, or sentence associated with it.
  • Any "leftover" letters are for personal reflections.
  • Your poem does not need to rhyme.
