Think about all of the activities and chores that you have to do daily. Activities like walking to the bus stop, cleaning your room, doing your laundry, and making your bed are things you may do every day. While performing these tasks, you are walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and squatting, which work all the major muscle groups. While doing these everyday activities, you are increasing your metabolism, toning your muscles, and improving your overall health.
There are many activities you can do outside the home that give you physical exercise and also allow you to complete a task, such as mowing the lawn, gardening, walking the dog, yard work, and taking out the trash. All of these activities can improve your health while also allowing you time to complete your daily responsibilities.
If you have stairs in your home or live somewhere with access to stairs, there are many ways that this can benefit your body. By walking up and down the stairs ten or twenty minutes a day, you can tone your abdominals, strengthen your leg muscles, and increase your bone strength. To strengthen your upper body, you can carry gallon jugs of water up and down the stairs. Opt to take the stairs whenever you can, instead of taking an elevator. If your parent or guardian needs help carrying the groceries into your kitchen from the car or store, volunteer to help.
See if your parents or guardians will park farther from the entrance to a location rather than closer so that you and your family can fit in a little more walking. If you have to work on a computer, consider doing so while standing, which gives your body more physical activity than sitting. If you are going to a nearby friend's house, see if it is safe for you to walk, run, skate, or ride your bike instead of having someone drive you. There are countless ways to fit in exercises while satisfying another chore or responsibility, which saves you time. This is another way to manage your time.
