Quantum Mechanics

In chemistry, you probably learned about the Bohr Model of the atom. This model was one of the important steps toward Quantum Mechanics. Begin the simulation, Models of the Hydrogen Atom, by clicking on the image to the right.

Inside of the simulation, select “prediction”, then “DeBroglie." Shine white light on the atom and observe what happens.  Try different colors of monochromatic light and observe what happens. 

How is this model different than the Bohr Model?
