Smell, Taste, Touch, and Other Senses
You may already know that some animals have a heighted sense of hearing that allows them to perform tasks better, like find food or protect themselves. Imagine what life would be like if one of your senses was intensified. Choose taste, touch, smell, vestibular, or kinesthetic senses. Then, create a scene from a comic book that creatively shows your super powers. You can decide whether or not to include words in your comic, however, you must type a written explanation that answers the following questions:
- Which sense is heighted?
- What is the function of your chosen sense to humans?
- What is happening in your comic?
- What can you now do that you could not do before?
- How is your life different because this sense is heightened?
Before you begin, access the Senses Intensified Comic Strip Checklist to make sure that you include all of the items required for full credit. If resources outside of this course are used to complete this assignment, please submit a Works Cited document. Options to create your comic strip include the following:
- Hand-draw the assignment and then take a picture of it for submission to the assignment’s dropbox.
- Hand-draw the assignment and then scan it for submission to the assignment’s dropbox.
- Create a new file in a paint or graphics program and utilize the software to create the image. You can then submit your work to the assignment’s dropbox.
- Use a web-based or mobile comic creator application and follow the prompts provided by the application to name your comic, select your background images, and then populate your comic with characters, word balloons, and props. When you have completed your comic, you can print it and then scan it or photograph it for submission to the assignment's dropbox. You can also save the digital file for submission to the assignment's dropbox.
Once you have completed your comic strip, please submit your work to the dropbox.
