Other Theories of Personality
How would you define your personality? Researchers believe that some of the most accurate assessments of personality come not from yourself, but from your closest friend.
As you know, taking a personality test is one way to gauge your personality traits. In this application, you and a close friend will complete Cattell's Sixteen Factors of Personality. You will be completing this personality test based on how each of you would rate YOUR personality (not your friend's personality). Therefore, you will need to print a copy of the inventory for both of you.
To complete the personality test, place an X somewhere between the two paired words on the spectrum. The X should be closer to the traits that best describe you, and farther from the traits that least describe you.
Personality Test Analysis
After you have both completed the personality test, you will compare your results. Provide a five to eight sentence written analysis that addresses the following questions:
- How similar was your trait assessment to your friend's?
- What assessment differences did you find? Provide an explanation for why there were discrepancies in your evaluations.
- Do you feel this test provided an accurate measure of your personality? Why or why not?
Before you begin the assignment, take a moment to review the Personality Test Checklist to help you complete your assignment and understand how your work will be graded.
Once you and your friend have completed the personality test, and you have written your analysis, please submit your work to the dropbox.
