Voting

Vote SignAccording to the U.S. Census, in the 2014 congressional election, only 23 percent of voters aged 18-34 participated in the election. That means that roughly three out four potential voters in that demographic did not vote. What do you think it would take to motivate younger voters to participate in an election? For example, would a focus on certain issues help inspire younger voters? Do younger citizens need more information on the registration process?

List five things that you think would motivate a younger citizen to vote. For each motivating factor you list, please include a two to four sentence explanation of why you believe it would help inspire younger voters. You should create a digital presentation that includes an image to correspond with each of your motivating factors. Refer to the Developmental Module for guidelines on how to publish your presentation for submission. Make sure that your presentation is visually appealing, organized, and covers all of the information that is listed above.

Before you begin, access the Voter Drive Checklist to make sure that you include all of the items required for full credit. You may use resources outside of this course to complete this assignment. If so, make sure you submit a Works Cited document. If you need assistance, visit the Developmental Module for information on citing any resources that you used.

Once you have completed your digital presentation, please submit your work to the dropbox.
