Thurgood Marshall

Justice Thurgood Marshall

discussion iconIn this topic, you studied several Supreme Court cases. For this application, select a Supreme Court case that you have not yet studied. Perform research on your chosen case to answer the following questions:

  1. What was the legal question in the case?
  2. Who participated in the case?
  3. What was the outcome of the case?
  4. Which of the three legal concepts (right to privacy, equal rights, or rule of law) discussed in this topic would best apply to the case? Explain your reasoning.

Use the Supreme Court Case Research Template to help guide your research. Once you have completed your research, create a brief summary of the case that includes answers to the above questions. At the end of your summary, write a question connected to the case to ask your coursemates.

Post your question to the discussions area. Then, return to the topic several times over the next few days to read your coursemates' posts. Reply to at least two of them, being sure to offer new insights, ask questions, and encourage further conversation.

Before you begin, access the Supreme Court Case Checklist to be sure you include all of the items required for full credit. Since you are using resources outside of this course to complete the assignment, please submit a Works Cited document.
