Interpreting Weather Maps

Artist iconWeather icon and question markWeather maps are continually advancing with modern technology. Imagine that you work for the National Weather Service and your job is to design a symbol that will be used on current weather maps. This symbol will need to communicate temperature, wind speed, air pressure, and precipitation to the public. The symbol will be used to display weather information for each city listed on a map.

How would you design such a symbol? What would it look like? Before you learn about the station model and weather maps, make a sketch of a symbol that could display the current weather conditions at a given city. Save your symbol to refer back to once you have completed this topic.
